One of the most practical pre-flight questions: book everything now or decide on the island? In Tenerife the answer is mixed. Some things — especially limited slots or updated rules — are worth locking in as soon as you have dates. Others, like restaurants or today's beach, can stay flexible. This is the operational checklist.

Teide summit permit
To reach the crater (Telesforo Bravo trail) you need a Tenerife ON permit with a time slot. Do not confuse summit permit and cable car ticket. Guide: climbing Teide.
Teide cable car
Buy online in high season; strong wind can suspend service. The return ticket for a non-resident adult currently starts from €42; always check the updated price on the official site. Climbing Teide.
Barranco de Masca (descent only)
Barranco de Masca is accessible by reservation with limited places. In the current pilot phase only the descent route is available: since December 2025 access must be from Santiago del Teide on TITSA line 355, proving you used the required transport. You must already have your boat ticket for the sea exit and closed trekking footwear. Always check official conditions. Masca.
Whale watching and boat trips

Siam Park, Loro Parque and Aqualand
If you already know your visit day, buying ahead saves time and lets you check availability and official rates. Conditions vary by park: Aqualand, for example, applies online prices that can change by date. Parks in Tenerife.

TITSA buses
Normal lines (40, 711, 473…) are not booked like excursions. Exception: Barranco de Masca — you must use bus 355 from Santiago del Teide and keep proof of travel. Getting around without a car.
